Wedding/Anniversary Cake Guidelines

DEPOSIT:        
A  33% NON-refundable deposit confirms your wedding date on the Pastry Bag  calendar. This deposit is also used to gather all the supplies needed for your  wedding /anniversary/grooms cake. I   am   limited as to how many wedding cakes I will book in any given weekend.  I have the right to adjust that number of cakes committed to,  depending  upon  previous commitments or time availability. If an order is placed without a deposit it is not guaranteed that your spot on my calendar won't be over-ridden by another paid wedding cake deposits, if our wedding cake quota has  been met.  If a deposit is sent   through the US mail, any delays in mail service is not at the fault of the baker.  If   timing becomes an issue seek other reliable methods of payment. In the event a   check is returned NSF, the deposit is canceled and your date is then  jeopardized. Other arrangements must be made ASAP if the date is still open.

FINAL PAYMENT:
The  final payment is due on or before 4 weeks of the wedding/event.  This date will be determined at the wedding consultation. If a final payment is sent through the US mail, any delays in mail service is not at  the fault of the baker and is considered not paid unit it is in my possession. The order will be considered canceled at 5:00pm on the 30th day prior to the event.  It is the brides responsibility to contact the baker 4 weeks prior  to the event if final payment will be an issue to paying on time. The Pastry Bag has the right to determine if the final payment arrangement can be altered outside the guidelines stated here.

REFUNDABLE  ITEMS:
The deposit on the returnable items is due 4 weeks prior the event. It  is the brides responsibility to assign a person to return all items to the  Pastry Bag within 10 days after the wedding, unless other arrangements are  made.  There might be circumstances  where supplies might need to be returned sooner due to the other wedding cakes  the following weekend that needs the same equipment. The baker will inform the  bride or brides contact if this situation arises. The deposit will be returned 100% only if all the parts are returned and in working order  and within the 10 day limit. Partial deposit will be returned if items are missing only a portion of the deposit will be returned minus the replacement cost.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDED MONEY:
In  the event that the wedding/anniversary  is canceled prior 15 days of the event all money paid (with the  exception of the 33% NON-refundable Deposit) will be returned. Only 50% of the money paid (excluding  the NON-refundable deposit) will be refunded if a cancelation is within 14 days  of the event. No money will be refunded if the event is canceled within 7 days. If the event for the same  couple is rescheduled for a date within 6 months of the original  wedding/anniversary date - all monies will transfer to the new date. In the  event of a natural disaster/act of God and conflicts with the original date, a  new day can be scheduled with all money transferring to the new date if the  event occurs within 9 months after disaster date depending upon TPB calendar of  availability. Deposits are non-transferable to other parties or smaller (less value) cake.

PHONE ORDERS:
 Any  orders for a wedding/anniversary cake taken over the phone or through email  contact, cannot be confirmed until payment is received. If a deposit is sent  through the US mail, any delays in mail service is not at the fault of the baker.  If timing becomes an issue seek other reliable methods of payment. In the event  a check is returned NSF, the deposit is canceled and your date is then  jeopardized. Other arrangements must be made ASAP if the date is still open.  The deposit and final payment previously described is the same for phone  orders. A contract normally won't be sent to the requesting party if their  request is made less than 6 weeks prior the event.

CONTACT INFORMATION:
If  any of the contact information listed on contract: phone numbers, addresses,  and names may change, it is the responsibility of the bride to contact the  baker and notify them of the changes.

BRIDES RESPONSIBILITIES: 
If  the bride has to furnish the baker with items such a cake topper, pulls,  flowers (fresh or silk-already to be place on the cake), or special items for grooms cake, a date will be  agreed upon as to when they need to bring these by the shop.

FLOWERS FOR THE WEDDING CAKE: 
In the event the bride has not contracted the florist to create the flowers for the WC and wants TPB to design/create an arrangement of flowers on the cake, there will be an additional charge for floral arrangement.  This also applies if the bride brings stems of flowers that have not been prepped for the cake.

It is the florist responsibility to insure that the flowers chosen for the cake are food safe and not the responsibility of TPB. The PB will work with the florist on proper methods of placing flowers on cake, but has no control over the method used by the florist and takes no responsibility of what the florist chooses to do.          

DELIVERY AND SETUP:
The bride is responsible for furnishing the baker with an address of the reception location.

The  baker will deliver and set up all wedding cakes.  A delivery fee will be charged based on certain factors concerning the wedding cake. Those factors will be discussed at the consultation and determined what they will be at that time.
In  the event a wedding cake is picked up from the shop, the baker is no longer  responsible for a safe delivery of the cake, once it has left the shop.
The  baker will furnish an extra box for left over cake.  Usually the smallest box is reserved for the  anniversary top. The other box is available for any left over cake after the  event. We can furnish more boxes if requested. The baker does not furnish any  food wrap like saran wrap, or foil to cover the remainder cake, nor does it  furnish any cutting utensils.
The  baker recommends that the cake top be placed in the box furnished and wrapped  in several layers of saran wrap and then in several layers of aluminum foil  and/or freezer paper. The cake will taste fresh at the one year anniversary if wrapped properly. The baker is not responsible for the anniversary cake a year later.
In the event the reception location has a strong odor, such as cigarette smoke, engine exhaust, etc. the baker is not  responsible for the cake absorbing such odors.
When delivering a cake the baker has the right to refuse a non-sturdy table for placing the cake on. The staff at the reception location will furnish a sturdy table or take responsibility for the location they have us place the cake on.  We also have some individual witness and sign the bridal contract that we set  up the cakes and left them in perfect standing condition.

In the event there is a conflict on delivery times of the WC’s  when there is more than 1 wedding cake on the books for a particular date, TPB has the right to determine which deliver takes priority. Certain factors will be considered like whom placed their order first, location/distance of the delivery, possible anticipated uncertain traffic problems, and tight windows of opportunity for cake setup.

Any  other concern of the baker or bridal party can be discussed.
